Keynote – Danny Pickens
Danny Pickens has over fifteen years of experience in the fields of military intelligence, counterterrorism and cyber security. As the director of Optiv’s cyber threat intelligence practice, Pickens is responsible for the direction and operations of a staff of cyber threat intelligence analysts and consultants charged with conducting research and analysis to support clients with strategic advisement and consulting in the area of intelligence for business alignment and decision advantage.
Throughout his career, Pickens has spent time at the tactical, operational and strategic level of intelligence and cyber operations within the United States military and various divisions of the Department of Defense and other U.S. government organizations. During his tenure at Optiv, Pickens has been responsible for the establishment of the Global Threat Intelligence Center, the cyber threat intelligence team supporting Managed Security Services.
Pickens continues his service as a military intelligence and counterterrorism professional as a brigade intelligence sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve. His more than 13 years of service within the Marine Corps, U. S. Army and federal work allows him to continue driving innovation and change, while mentoring and training junior intelligence analysts.
Pickens enjoys spending his off-time with his wife and three children.
